Extensive excavations at Dorestad

This archaeological report is the final volume in a series of publications on archaeological field research carried out between 1967 and 1977 near Wijk bij Duurstede. These excavations are among the most extensive projects of the 1960s and 70s. The present report was preceded by two earlier publications on the Dorestad harbour area (1980 and 2009). This final volume discusses the early medieval settlement traces west of the harbour. The excavations were carried out by the Rijksdienst voor het Oudheidkundig Bodemonderzoek (ROB), the predecessor of the present Cultural Heritage Agency.
