- In 1672 Gerard de Lairesse was working on a ceiling painting. But then the artist quickly adapted his canvases to that Disaster Year.
- Hundreds of Roman coins were found by two amateur archaeologists in a field near Bunnik. Remarkably, there are also British coins among the hoard of silver and gold.
