The English issue of the Magazine of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands is ready. The magazine is now available online.

Articles include:

  • In 1672 Gerard de Lairesse was working on a ceiling painting. But then the artist quickly adapted his canvases to that Disaster Year.
  • Hundreds of Roman coins were found by two amateur archaeologists in a field near Bunnik. Remarkably, there are also British coins among the hoard of silver and gold.
  • In the new Dutch embassy in Brussels we find two goat herders. There is something odd about the border of this Flemish tapestry dating from the 18th century.

The articles provide an overview of the RCE, its work and domains. They feature typical Dutch examples, international heritage cooperation, and research.
