A series of maps, data sets, research methods and guidelines were developed, as part of the ‘Kenniskaart Archeologie’ (Archaeological Knowledge Map) programme. Each of these instruments is discussed in this report.

Archaeological Knowledge Map

Knowledge is essential for carefully considering the interests of archaeology in spatial planning. The Kenniskaart Archeologie programme aims to develop various instruments for increasing the efficiency of archaeological practice. These include instruments applicable to archaeological prediction; disturbance caused by for instance agriculture; archaeological national heritage site maps; prospection methods; research questions; and scientific syntheses. This scientific report explains the development process behind these knowledge products as well as the choices that have been made.
