NAR 65: Roman bathing in Coriovallum. The thermae of Heerlen revisited
This publication contains new research conducted in 2016-2019 at the Thermae museum in Heerlen. Central to this research is the Roman public bathhouse in Coriovallum, present-day Heerlen, and its location in the Roman city. Over twenty archaeological specialists present their findings in this publication.
Public bathing
The research provided for a wealth of new information. Not just information of the bathhouse and how it functioned over time, but also on the workings of Coriovallum as a small city close to the roman border (Limes) in Germania Inferior. The Roman bathhouse of Coriovallum existed and played a key role for nearly 400 years.
